Anything Goes Happy Hour – Episode #17

This Sunday’s show will feature one of Laguna’s most beloved art icons, Douglas Miller, then profile the fascinating life of Mitch Ridder, a renowned Laguna Beach-based painter, illustrator, photojournalist, veteran ocean lifeguard and Much more, then celebrate the return of James Clay Garrison, a gifted musician that has quickly become a favored fixture in one of the most respected music scenes in America.

We’ll also get to discuss the “Lost Video Footage” of the 2015 Blue Water Music Festival and present a few of this week’s World’s best CV-19 inspired music videos.

The AGHH is LBCAC’s way of providing area residents with a little safe fun in dark times. “Harnessing the power of the ARTS for the benefit of the community,” is their slogan and this Arts/Music centric show does just that by shining a bright light on a few outstanding artists every Sunday.

The AGHH is the LBCAC-TV’s first show and step toward establishing Laguna’s first community TV station.

Douglas Miller Self-portrait

Douglas Miller

Long time resident of Laguna Beach, California. Specializing in miniature paintings, although he’s done many murals as well. Exhibitor in the Sawdust Festival for over 30 years. Photographer and violinist for many years.

What if someone shot a roll of film per day, for 44 years, of your hometown?

Starting in 1970, prolific local artist Douglas Miller has taken 350,000 spontaneous snapshots on the streets of Laguna Beach. This documentary examines the five-decade relationship between photographer and hometown.

Mitch Ridder

Mitch Ridder

Twenty-four years as a painter and illustrator, thirty-eight years as an ocean lifeguard and the last six years as a photojournalist, my training demanded developing an intuitive visual acuity I now capture photographically.

The foundation of my work and artistic strength is my painter’s visual sense of composition with a designers aesthetic, framed through my viewfinder, composing cinematic stories with light and color.

My passion rivals my vision. Whether pre-shoot strategizing, mapping locations and plotting the sun or moon’s position, rising at 3:00 am to be on location by 5:00, exploring new destinations and cultures, through post-processing, printing and framing, my attention is to detail, I do whatever it takes to get the shot and tell the story.

James Clay Garrison

James Clay Garrison

James Clay Garrison began making an impact in the music industry in the late 80s when he joined forces with super group Western Vacation and then throughout the 90s in live performances spanning from LA to San Diego. In 2003 he released the compilation record “The Grand Experience” which included some of his favourite recordings from the mid nineties up to the early 2000s. 2014’s 1000 Million Miracles features some of the many amazing players and artists James has been so fortunate as to work with over the years

Blue Water Music Festival

The “Lost Video Footage” has been discovered. We’ll quickly discuss the newly discovered footage of one of Laguna’s most cherished and celebrated weekends and the future of this amazing event.

Again, in case you haven’t heard, LBCAC has joined forces with the good folks at AlertTheGlobe.com, an international live-streaming company owned by members of The Rolling Stones, Springsteen’s Band, Ringo’s Band as well as Stevie Nicks’ Bands. They’ve installed a high-end multi-camera streaming system at our Forest Avenue location to broadcast the highest quality.

In order to bring you these shows and to “harness the power of the Arts to benefit the community,” we depend on your generous donations. Please consider giving any small amount today.
